What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a molecule that appears in the dermis and is one of a group of cell molecules with a big fancy name, glycosaminoglycans or GAGS for short. The job of GAGS is to hydrate and cushion tissues within the body. HA is great at it's job! It can hold up to 1000 times it's own weight in water so having enough in your body is key to plump and youthful looking skin. Unfortunately, every day you use up about one third of your HA and it needs to be replenished.

Sadly, your bodies ability to replenish HA is sharply reduced as you get older. By the time you reach mid-forties, you only make about 1/2 as much as you need. If you don't take serious action, your skin will be drier, have less collagen which in turn leads to more lines, wrinkles and sagging.

Here are my recommendations. Eat a combination of greens and other healthy veggies everyday. Add a little olive or avocado oil to your veggies. Increase your water consumption and take 2000 mgs. of fish oil or flax for good measure.

Besides eating more veggies, adding some good fat and drinking more water, I am a huge proponent of adding a well formulated HA Serum to your skin care routine and especially during the Winter months when your skin can be super dry.

KMSKIN has just the serum for you and it's called Hydra-Boost Serum. You'll be hearing more about it in the coming days. I recommend using a few pumps combined with your moisturizer when your skin needs an extra boost of hydration.
